To the Principal who received a fringeless scarve and sword from His Majesty the King

With deep respect and heartfelt congratulations, I commend Dasho Norbu Gyeltshen for receiving the prestigious award from our king. This recognition challenges the belief that opportunities are always better elsewhere, reminding us that true treasures lie where we are. It underscores the importance of perseverance and determination in uncovering the hidden potential within our own surroundings. Our collective efforts and dedication to nurturing future citizens will eventually be recognized, especially under the guidance of our visionary kings, as history has shown.

May our King live a long life!!!.......Palden Drukpa Lha Gyel Lho!!!

A Tribute to My Kings

As Bhutan celebrates her 106th National Day on 17th December, 2013, I with all humility and in true spirit of mind join the entire nation in commemorating this proudest day. What is happier than celebrating the ark of great unison ever had on this day? Our forefathers offered their trust and power to the first king and chose the monarchical system: a perfect system and an ark for the small society like ours to flourish and flow eternally amidst gigantic neighbours and developed nations. Since the inception of this great system, our country has been developing at a very fast pace. Big "Kadrenchee" to our kings.

As a matter of fact, what is not worthwhile to mark today's day.We cannot have better sense of ecstasy. It is the day of revelations of sincere prayers and great words of gratitude by the fortunate citizens. I am deeply touched by the great deeds of our visionary kings. There cannot be such selfless, pure, refined and better leaders in the world.

As prophesied by Guru Rinpochhe and rediscovered by the great saint, Drukdra Dorji, the people of Bhutan were ushered into another era of well-established monarchy system under the visionary leadership of His Majesty the fourth King, Jigme Singye Wangchuk. The people were blessed by the towering qualities and the supernatural power of the fourth monarch. His subjects vehemently carried out all his visionary goals in parallel with the overarching development philosophy of Gross National Happiness. Thus, his arrival brought the greatest temporal and spiritual successes in the country. It became the second Garden of Eden - a place of peace, tranquility, prosperity and harmony. The Bhutanese people couldn’t find a better place to live in such a heavenly abode.

As an heirloom from the throne, a people’s king was born. He is as visionary as his father. He is that much more empathetic to his subjects. He is not only wise but also an all knowing, an omnipotent and the true reincarnation of body, mind and speech of Buddha.

Our king sacrifices his personal comfort and goes  beyond his royal pagoda, through rainy and sunny days, with a concerned mind that if his people at the nook and corner of the country were happy. Every visit was a rewarding for his needy citizen. He visited the west; there was light. He visited the east; there were smiles and wine. He visited the north; there were prayers. He visited the south; there were songs and dances. He is the true father of all fathers. He is the real son of all the sons. He is a jocund companion of all the travelers.  He is the true teacher to all the teachers. He is the true patron of the poor and the benefactor of the downtrodden. There are always a clear light of the day and beacon of guidance under their astounding leadership.

As an innocent child, I had a notion that the king was someone who always stayed in the well decorated palace, surrounded by the beautiful queen, well protected by fully armed body guards and who often gave commands and speeches through costly televisions. But, now I lament for having speculated such a wrong notion. Our monarchs are so inspirational that I would take next 100 generations to repay them for what they have done for this country and what they have given me. There cannot be a better gift than free education from the throne. For a child from a humble family background, the education is the only tool and means for better life.

Today, our king has shared his best of concerns for his country and people and even motivated the fellow citizens by awarding the most prestigious gifts and rewards on the most auspicious day.  I am truly inspired by the awards. It only motivates me to work harder as civil servant and aspire to take the institution where I work to the next level of excellence.

May true Pelden Drukpa be flourished in all the times to come! And long live our monarchs!
